House Help Wahala

Many people do not know that keeping a house help of less than 18 years is a criminal offense known as unlawful force labour under section 22(1)(d) of the TPP Act. I see this in many homes. It’s common in many big houses in Abuja, Lagos etc.

If NAPTIP catches you, it is minimum of 5 years imprisonment. Ignorance of the law is no defense. It is a similar law that was used to convict Ike Ekweremadu in UK.
